Can Fast Walking Extend your Life by up to 20 years?

Recent research (May 15, 2019) from "Leicester University suggests that despite body weight, those who walk quickly could live significantly longer than those who stroll or dawdle".

Is Fast Walking at (approximately) 2.2 miles/hour the answer?

According to research reviewed by Verywellfit, a Fast Walking speeds correlated with an average lifespans was 1.8 miles/hour or 3 kilometers/hour.  Walking faster, at approximately 2.2 miles/hour or 4.0 kilometers/hour was correlate with a longer lifespan.

How long should you fast walk for?
 

Consult your doctor before starting any fitness program.

Up to 30 minutes/day for a total of at least 150 minutes/week is recommended.

What happens if you don't exercise enough?

"Without" sufficient "physical activity you become Deconditioned". Deconditioning requires medical help to reverse.
